Originally founded in 1978, we have a long history of promoting the development & preservation of historic Downtown Owensboro. Our vision is for Downtown Owensboro to be a vibrant, inclusive and thriving area, fostering a sense of belonging for residents & visitors alike.
The District
History & Vision
The District
The District is a portion of Downtown Owensboro that allows alcoholic beverages on public property during weekends and certain permitted special events. The District allows patrons at participating businesses to leave the premise with an alcoholic beverage in a specially marked 16 oz. cup.
